Estimates
Smaller jobs are often hard to quote accurately so we only provide estimates based on experience of similar work. Estimates are broken down into time and materials costs so it's clear what you are paying for.
Own materials
Although we will fit materials provided by you, if there's anything missing / poor quality then the time to drive to a supplier and get the correct part will be included in the job invoice.
We only use our own supplied paint except on small patching jobs where the original paint is available for a perfect colour match. This is simply because our trade paint is better quality and achieves a better finish and coverage than any available consumer paint. Excess coloured paint will be left on site. White (and exterior black) paint is usually billed per litre but we buy in bulk so excess is not left on site unless agreed in advance.
Access
Time estimates are based on free access to reasonably clean surfaces. Extra time spent moving furniture and cleaning before being able to work will be included in the invoice total.
Waste disposal
New government regulation means we cannot carry waste products in our vehicles without a specific waste disposal contract. For small jobs we will place all waste products into rubble sacks for you to dispose of appropriately. For larger jobs we recommend Hippo Bags or Skip hire. This is usually undertaken by you directly so that you can arrange the delivery and collection at convenient times.
Insurance
Contract works and 3rd party liability insurance is included, the certificate is available on request.
Deposits & Cancellation - We do not usually require a deposit unless there are high cost special order items required, this will be noted in estimates or quotes. Standard cancellation notice period is estimated job length + 2 days, prior to the agreed start date. We reserve the right to charge the estimated labour rates and unrecoverable material costs if the cancellation is after the start of the notice period.
Payment
Payment is due on receipt of invoice unless specifically agreed in advance. For work lasting over 2 weeks interim invoices will be issued covering the work undertaken to that date. Payment details are included in the invoice and can be easily paid over the internet by BACS. Automatic reminders will be sent after 7 days. As a small business we rely on prompt payment in order to manage cashflow. Please help support local small businesses by paying promptly.
